The maximum cable lengths for SAA500-001 at 8.3 V are given in the table below. Use an approved splice kit to add any cable to an existing SAAV, and ensure you account for the cable that is already attached. SAAVs connected to DTSAA loggers must be configured to run in low power mode.
NOTE: RST Surge unit adds 1.6 ohm per conductor equivalent to 29m of 22AWG, 70m of 18AWG, 181m of 14AWG, reduce table cable length when using an RST surge unit.
WARNING: 14 AWG cable (SKUCAB14) will not directly fit into the cable glands and connectors DTSAA loggers. To accommodate 14 AWG cable, a special adapter must be used at the end of the ShapeArray cabling. This adapter should be specified at the time of purchase to ensure compatibility with these loggers.
