ShapeArrays (SAAs) do not need to be calibrated while they are in the same borehole. The sensors used in their construction do not drift. It is recommended to check for twist before reusing the ShapeArray. Please refer to the How do I check my ShapeArray for twist? FAQ for more information. As long as the ShapeArray is in the same borehole, there is no need to remove it for calibration.

If the ShapeArrays are to be reused in another borehole, you could look at getting Measurand to refurbish the coverings and redo the roll offset calibration. The roll offset calibration can be affected by removal of the ShapeArray from a bent casing.

Measurand’s SAAScan should be used for applications that require the ShapeArray to be used for measurements in a large number of boreholes.
